We have big dreams and fast timelines, to become Australia’s go-to digital bank. That means offering tomorrow’s digitally-savvy customers our banking services, wrapped in a mobile experience people write songs about.
You’ll be the part of the original squad that brings this vision to life. Fair warning: It’s not for those who prefer an easy, structured pace.
We plan to be in the hands of customers by early 2025, with a go hard, go fast early approach. Once we’ve connected with customers, we’ll drop in new features and functions based on what we’ve tested and learnt from early adopters. We’ll build the solutions they actually want.
It’s not just about winning over customers; we want to become Australia’s most loved banking app and AMP’s most engaged team. And to do that, we believe it’s important we create a new culture and way of working.
The good news is, you won’t be starting entirely from scratch.
You’ll be sort of starting from scratch
Imagine a fintech startup mixing with a big four. That’s your starting point: agile and hands-on meets established and fully resourced.
You’ll help us set up a new digital business, shape how that business runs, who it becomes and build solutions our customers have asked for. Only you’ll do it with the backing of the award-winning tech that fuelled Starling Bank’s success in the UK, and the financial muscle of AMP’s 170-year heritage.
Everything you need to build a new, modern bank
AMP is teaming up with Engine by Starling, a cloud-native, API-based SaaS platform that powers Starling Bank’s operations, and has revolutionised the UK banking market.
Using this proven tech and the best of Starling’s rollout strategies, we’ll transform the local market with a tailored, customer-focused approach.
This is not the only partnership we’ll call on to build AMP Bank’s digital experience. You’ll have access to an ecosystem of partners, offering their perspectives on different ways of working, culture, and collaboration. It’s everything you need to build a modern, innovative bank.

Right now, we’re still figuring things out, so there are a lot of unknowns. It’s new, and not for everyone.
We’re taking the best of our current culture, borrowing from successful neobank cultures and creating something that’s not been created before.
Think of yourself as the first runner in a relay race. Through AMP Bank, you’ll be setting the tone for the culture the wider AMP business adopts. You’ll help us shake off our stuffy corporate image to become the agile, responsive and customer-obsessed business we know we can be.

We want a squad that works together, moves fast and is transparent in all its dealings. Think daily check-ins and brainstorming sessions. This is a flat structure where your ideas are heard and celebrated. We want everyone to muck in and play their part. If you don’t, the rest of us will know about it. That may feel uncomfortable for a lot of people. But owning our part is how we make AMP Bank happen.
