    The pre-qualification process is the step before pre-approval, and it will help estimate:

    • how much you could borrow
    • your stamp duty costs
    • your monthly repayments
    • any first home buyer incentives you may be eligible for.

    You can pre-qualify for an AMP Bank home loan if you are:

    • over 18
    • an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
    • employed full-time, part-time, as a contractor or casual, or self-employed
    • looking to borrow above $100,000
    • seeking a home loan to purchase or refinance a residential property.

    To help you get started, have a think about and prepare the following:

    • How much you want to borrow and how much of a deposit you have (if you’re purchasing a new property)
    • Details of your income, monthly living expenses, property assets, savings and existing loan details (such as credit cards, personal loans, car loans or existing home loans)
    • The address of the property you're interested in, if you’ve seen one that you like. During the process, we’ll do some simple calculations and verify the address of the property
