    Conservative Option

    The Future Directions Conservative Option is a multi-manager option that gives investors access to a diversified portfolio with a bias towards income assets (cash and bonds), while having a limited exposure to growth (shares and property) and alternative assets. The Option has a target allocation of 37% to growth assets and 63% to defensive assets.

    The Option can be accessed through AMP SignatureSuper.

      

    • Objective

      The strategy aims to achieve a rate of return of 1.75% pa above the inflation rate (measured by the Consumer Price Index) after investment fees, costs and superannuation tax, over a 10-year timeframe. Using a multi-manager approach, it provides investors access to a diversified portfolio with a bias towards defensive assets (fixed income and cash) with some exposure to growth assets (shares and property). This is a multi-manager option which diversifies at asset and manager level. 

    • Target audience

      This product is likely to be appropriate for a consumer seeking some capital growth and regular income while preserving capital to be used as either a satellite, core or standalone holding within a portfolio where the consumer has a medium to long investment timeframe and a medium risk/return profile.

    • Withdrawal frequency

      Withdrawals are allowed daily. Withdrawals are normally processed within 5 business days. The constitution allows for payments to be made within 30 calendar days.

    What are the risks?

     

    The Option may be suitable for a consumer with a moderate or medium risk profile, seeking to minimise potential losses (eg has the ability to bear up to 3 negative returns over a 20-year period (SRM 4)) and is comfortable with a moderate return. Risks specific to the Option may include or be associated with interest rates, share market investments, international investments, credit, alternative assets, property investments, derivatives and liquidity.
